Antoine's Extraordinary Journey Part 2

Antoine stumbled away, and cursed himself for letting Sonic see 
him. Soon, he found himself surrounded by dense forest and 
darkness. He heard a scuttle.

"Aaah!" He screamed and dived to the ground. 

At that moment, the ground shook and opened up, and Antoine fell, 
screaming. Aah! I'm going to die! Aah! he thought. It seemed to 
him that he was falling forever. At last he hit the bottom, but 
he had passed out by then.

"Mon Dieu!" he said slowly, as he came to. He was on a bed in a 
dark room with no windows.

"What 'appened?"

A door slowly opened. A yellow wolf emerged. 

"A ha! You're finally awake!" the wolf said, grinning slyly.

"Mon Dieu!" Antoine said again. "Who are you?"

"Ha! You don't know who I am! Everyone around here knows me!" 
the wolf laughed.

*Zis wolf does not look any older zan Miles!* he thought to himself.

"I am not from around here." Antoine said. "You look too young to be 
living alone! Where are your parents?"

"Well, I never knew them.I suppose they're robots now."

"Oh." Antoine looked down. 

"I'm Rod. Rod Wolfe." Said the wolf. "And you are...?"

"Antoine." He said. There was a long silence.

"Why does everyone here know you?" Antoine said at last. 

"Lemme show you." he stretched his muscles and started to run. 
Very fast. He runs almost as fast as Sonique! he thought. But 
only almost.

"So whatta ya think?" Rod asked.

"Zat is nuzzing. My frie-" he broke off. Sonic wasn't his friend 
anymore. Neither was Sally, or Rotor, or Bunnie, or Tails. All 
the people he cared about most. 

"Your what?" Rod asked impatiently. Antoine was silent.

"Oh, well this is just great! I give up!" Rod said, exasperated. 
He picked Antoine up. Antoine objected.

"I am able to get out myself!" he said indignantly.

"Ok then. Climb up that wall." he pointed to a wall made of soil. 
Antoine cried out.

"We're underground. You fell through my hidden entrance. Thanks, 
though, cos now I know to make it more solid."

"Ok, you may carry me." Antoine gave in. 

Rod picked him up. He winked to himself. He suddenly shot straight 
up the wall and outside, with Antoine screaming hysterically. 

"Whew! You're heavy!" Rod puffed. "Where are you going?" 

Antoine thought for a minute. Where was he going? He already 
slightly missed Sally and Rotor, Tails and Bunnie, and, yes, 
even Sonic. 

"I zink I will go to ze Great Forest." He'd made up his mind. 
He would go back to The Freedom Fighters. *But only because zay 
cannot do wizout me,* he thought.
